CMA 2009: The Best and Worst Beauty Looks

When it comes to the Country Music Awards, the stars always adopt Cosmo's "Go Big or Go Home" motto, especially when it comes to their hair and makeup. And last night was no exception.

So let's get down to business and discuss which looks we loved and which ones left us wondering, "WTF?"

CMA hostess, Carrie Underwood, looked, well, very "Carrie Underwood" with sex kittenish half-up hair, smoky eyes and ultra-glossy lips. Totally gorgeous, but very predictable. I'd love to see her try something more daring.

T Swift (FYI: Like the rest of the world, I've become such a big fan of hers that now we're on a nickname basis…she calls me "A Lavs") pinned up her signature curls and went for a sparkly champagne eye shadow that matched her stunning gown and earrings.

Michelle Branch (remember her?) had one of my favorite outfits of the night (that necklace is killer) but I wasn't loving her updo. The chunky pieces in the front gave it a very Cindy Crawford circa 1992 feel. As for her makeup, I'd like to take a Q-tip and remove about half the liner underneath her eyes.

I'll give Kellie Pickler points for making a bold hair color change, but I'm willing to bet all the T Swift songs on my iTunes that she'll be back to blonde by the holidays since this red shade just doesn't suit her. Otherwise, her makeup is pretty, particularly her glowing peach cheeks and glossy lips.

Holy smoky eyes! If Leanne Rimes wanted to send some kind of "don’t' mess with me" message via her makeup it worked, because I thought her eye shadow was kind of scary. On a positive note, I liked her teased ponytail.

Now it's your turn: Who do you think looked the best/worst at last night's CMAs? Tell me in the comments!
