How to Shop for Thanksgiving Dinner

With Thanksgiving just around the corner, it's about time to start planning the dinner menu so you are prepared when you shop for your feast. This way you can avoid the rush, the crowds and the last minute shopping and have a stress free Thanksgiving.
  1. Step

Decide on the menu, the number of guests that you are expecting and any special dietary needs your guests may have.

  2. Step

Find the recipes for all the foods that you will be making for Thanksgiving dinner. Write down all the ingredients and other items that you need to buy. You may separate the list into perishables and non-perishables so you can buy some items ahead of time.

  3. Step

Check your pantry to see if you already have some of the items that you will need before you head to the store. Also, check for those items that you may need more of.

  4. Step

Visit the grocery store the first week of November and start shopping for the ingredients that can be purchased ahead of time. These can include flour, sugar, canned pumpkin, stuffing, cranberries (frozen or fresh), frozen vegetables, butter, heavy whipping cream and pie crusts.

  5. Step

Make a space in the freezer for the turkey. The turkey should be purchased at least 2 to 3 weeks before Thanksgiving. Get a good sized turkey to feed all your guests.

  6. Step

    Enjoy your Thanksgiving
