Nissan Qashqai facelift revealed

Written By Trading Forex News on Saturday, December 5, 2009 | 6:34 AM

These are the first pictures of the facelifted Nissan Qashqai and Qashqai+2, which will go on sale next March.

The revised car features some additional kit, and buyers will have to pay an additional 2.5 per cent VAT; as a result, the starting price of the base model will rise by £900, and prices will go up across the range.

Nissan says the ride of the revised Qashqai has been tweaked towards comfort and responsiveness. It also says it has added more insulation material to protect agaistt noise and vibration, as well as changing the front window seal to reduce noise.

Exterior changes include a restyled front end, including new bonnet, front bumper, wings, grille and headlamps. The rear is largely unchanged, save for an aerodynamic tweak to reduce drag and revised light lenses.

Inside, the dials have been changed so that they are easier to read and footwell lights have been added. There are also additional storage areas.

Two new red and grey colour variants will be added to the range, too, while buyers can opt for new alloy designs.

A new eco version of the car has also been added to the range, called Pure Drive. Powered by the 1.5-litre diesel engine used elsewhere in the Qashqai range, the Pure Drive is lighter and more aerodynamic, reducing CO2 emissions from 137g/km to 129g/km. It costs £16,795 - £100 less than the equivalent engined and trimmed standard car.
