Christina was born December 18, 1980. Her mom was a professional musician (piano and violin) and her father was in the military. She is of Irish and Ecuadorian descent. She travelled a lot with her family following her father's military career.
She made her first appearance on TV at age 8 on Star Search. She sang the National Anthem for the Pittsburgh Steelers at age 10.
Mickey Mouse Club and Beyond:
At age 12 she became a part of the Mickey Mouse Club. She appeared with Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake.She quickly became a star in the United States with her hit "Genie in a Bottle." It was the biggest selling single of 1999.
Christina hit it big again with the cover of Patty LaBell's Lady Marmalade with Lil' Kim, Mya and Pink for the movie Moulin Rouge.
Christina Aguilera supports Gay Rights:
When asked by The Advocate magazine if she supported gay marriage, Christina said, "Yes. My trainer married her girlfriend last weekend and we went. It was beautiful. I was so touched by their vows to each other, I totally cried." She added, "I never get people who think being gay is some kind of choice...It really saddens me."
On Kissing Madonna:
"I'd kiss a girl again. The Madonna thing was a one-off but girls are nice to kiss - nice and soft," Christina Aguilera says on Ananova.
When asked is she was surprised at the reaction to the kiss, she said, "Not really. When you go into something like that, you know people are going to get shocked." She also says it was "super fun."
Christina also said she wanted to kiss Britney Spears, but Britney declined.
Christina loves the Gays:
Christina Aguilera says she loves to go out clubbing with her gay friends. She is very out-spoken in her support for gay and lesbian rights, appearing on the cover of The Advocate magazine in September 2006.

She admits that she, "Finds it hornier looking at women than men," in The Sun a U.K. online magazine.

Although Christina Aguilera admits to enjoying kissing and looking at women, there is no indication that she has ever had a relationship with a woman. She is married to music executive Jordan Bratman.
